New Milton Infant School

Lunch in School

School Dinners - (Free for all children)

We strongly encourage all children to have a school meal at lunchtime, which are free to all infant aged children, and are nutritious and healthy, with the vast majority of meals being cooked from scratch in house by Ricky, our school chef.

All infant aged children (regardless of family income) receive a free hot meal each school day through the governments "Universal Infant Free School Meal" scheme, so why not save time and money and allow your child to take a school lunch?

Each day at morning registration, children can choose between a vegetarian option (Green), a meal containing meat or fish (Red) or alternatively either a filled jacket potato or pasta option. (Blue)  In addition, during the Summer term the children can also select a packed cold meal.

The school menus are rotated every 3 weeks and are published on our website to help you and your child choose what they will have for lunch next day in school.

Special Diets

Our caterer "Grow" will produce a special menu for all children who have medically diagnosed food allergies and have provided supporting medical evidence.

Please use the online notification form available under our "School Meals" page to notify the caterer of your child's food allergies so that a special individual menu can be planned in advance, ready for when your child starts school.

Packed Lunch from Home

As an alternative to the school meals provided free of charge, children can instead bring a healthy packed lunch to school from home.
